Last Chance to Register for Encampment

Please reply directly to Lee (refer to email for her email address).

For troops 6th grade and up.

Last chance to register to go camping Halloween Weekend!

We're tent camping at Willow.  Archery/challenge course are available if requested.  We'll do our own cooking.  Price will be $15 + food (should be able to eat for $15-20 unless we decide on surf & turf) + challenge/archery.

We'll need to come up with something yummy for menus.

Some girls want to come up on Saturday morning so they can trick-or-treat on Friday, which is fine.  Or we can tell ghost stories at the campfire on Friday.  Program ideas are welcome or we can just hang out or hike.

Let me know if you weren't already signed up and want to go ASAP.  So far I have troops 2010, 1169, 1618, 1870 going.

If any older girls want to come up without their troop, they're welcome.

Vista del Camino Christmas Service

Adopt-a-Family Program
Vista del Camino, Scottsdale Services

Vista del Camino Social Services provides food, clothing, and emergency assistance to Scottsdale residents in need.  Many members of our community need the support of others to provide their children with a special holiday.  Others may be disabled or elderly and unable to provide for themselves.  Each year over 400 families are helped for Thanksgiving and 550 for Christmas.  There are many ways to share.

Christmas Adopt-a-Family
The Christmas Program emphasizes the need of children.  Vista staff provides adopters with a brief biography about the family, including gift suggestions and sizes for the children.  You are asked to provide 3 gifts chosen from the ‘wish list’ provided by each child (total child adoption costs $100.)  Please consider also donating a $25 grocery gift card for the Christmas dinner.  If you wish to provide more for the holiday meal, please do so in the form of additional grocery gift cards (rather than one larger one.)  In addition to Christmas, Vista will also honor other holiday traditions such as Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Ramadan.

Troop signup for the Adopt-a-Family Christmas Program will be at the leader meetings.  If you are unable to attend, please email me how many children your troop would like to adopt by Monday, November 3rd.  I will email adopted family information as soon as I receive our assignments.

Thank you on behalf of 100s of families in need in Scottsdale!
We’re making the world a better place.
Holly Snopko, Troops 1265/256
