In-Kind Donations Guidelines

In Kind Donation Instructions

1. Troop/Service Unit receives an in-kind donation from a donor.
2. Donor completes the In-Kind Donation Form, available online, and gives the form to troop/service unit representative.
3. Troop/Service Unit representative sends In-Kind Donation Form to GSACPC Fund Development Team.
4. The in-kind donation is documented and reviewed by the GSACPC Fund Development team.
5. Donor receives a tax-acknowledgement letter that they may use for their income tax preparation purposes.*

* For in-kind donations between $500.00-$4,999.99, the donor will need to complete and file IRS form 8283 for their income taxes.

If the donation is worth $5,000 or more, the donor will need to complete and file the IRS form 8283 (signed by an authorized official of GSACPC) for their income taxes. Generally, an appraisal is also required for in-kind donations of this
size.

Note: If the donor does not want a receipt, you will still need to email Fund Development and let them know of the donation so they can do their due diligence.
