How to Complete a Journey

This is the Pima-approved route to journey completion.

As always, you can modify or alter the steps, but I have found following this route is a good way to really earn the journey in a way that the girls can dig in but also enjoy themselves.

Journey Steps:

Step 1: Watch a movie that relates to the topic.

Step 2: Complete 1 related badge.

Step 3: Complete any requirements in the Journey book.

Step 4: Complete a related service project or earn the Leader In Action award associated with your Journey.

Step 5: Take a related field trip.

Step 6: Complete a Take Action Project.

ELF: Experienced Leader Friend

E.L.F stands for Experienced Leader Friend.

We have, at a minimum, 25 new leaders in our neighborhood this year.  For those of who are experienced, think back a bit and you will probably remember a leader who lent you a helping hand, listened, gave advice, and became a friend.  We would like to help all the new and experienced make new friends!

Please let Riley know if you can serve as an ELF to a new leader.

Things New Leaders may Need Help with....

  • Badges and Journeys
  • Field Trips
  • Investiture
  • Bridging
  • Spring Registration
  • Cookie Booths
  • Neighborhood Communications
  • School networks
  • Fall product
  • Training requirements
  • Girl Scout traditions
  • Much, much more!!

What do we want you to do? (not all of them! your choice)

  • Call
  • Text
  • Email
  • Have coffee
  • Attend leader meetings with your new friend
  • Make sure they attend the leader gala with you
  • Share your wisdom
  • Introduce them to other leaders

Nothing too difficult in other words.  You do not have to do a front splits, as pictured above! Let me know if you can lend a helping hand.
