Below you will find the forming calendar for Pima neighborhood's 2023-2024 year.  If the event does not have a link, please consider volunteering to coordinate that event.

Also featured this year "recommended troop activities."  These activities are free! and should be easy to incorporate into your troop calendars.

Haunted Yard

What:
If you haven't visited Diana's house at Halloween, now's your chance to stop by either with your troop or as a family to see the craziness. Animatronics and various scary scenes are set up each year in our courtyard and front yard.  The display changes annually.

When: October 30-31, dusk until about 9 pm

Where: Diana's (check email or roster for address)

Girl Scouts who visit and identify themselves to Diana will receive a Halloween patch!

Let's celebrate the holiday season! On Wednesday, November 29th at 6:30 pm, I will be hosting a GS Leaders Holiday Celebration at my home. There will be a white elephant gift exchange so be clever! Please wrap the white elephant gift and limit value to $15.

Kick off the holiday season with some good company and good cheer.

Thinking Day 2024

Pima Neighborhood

Thinking Day 2024

WHAT: Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by taking time to give thanks for their international friendships and remember that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries that are members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

WHEN & WHERE: February 25th, 1:00-3:00+ pm
Scottsdale Ranch Park, Ramada 10

COST: $5 per girl and includes a patch and passport.  No charge for leaders. Troops will be issued a refund of up to $3 per girl who attending after the event for those who attend. Last day to register is February 5, 2024.  The neighborhood subsidizes this event.

Payment can be made via troop check.  (Troops cannot pay via Venmo!)

ATTENDANCE LIMITATIONS:  Please bring only enough adults to meet ratio guidelines. Tagalongs cannot be accommodated at this event. As always, for the safety of the girls, no unregistered adults should attend this or any other Girl Scout event.

Slots will be filled and countries assigned on a first-come, first-paid basis and then registration will be closed.  Please submit your check made out to Pima Neighborhood with the registration form below. It is really important that you actually fill in the form.  I lose track of verbal "can I have this country?" inquiries.

DIRECTIONS: Each troop needs to pick a country and prepare (and decorate) a booth that includes information, a food, a craft (and/or) a SWAP, and a physical activity (game or song, generally) related to their country.  Girls will be issued passports to travel from booth to booth, so a stamp or sticker is needed to have to mark those passports.  Your country choice will be confirmed as soon as you turn in your registration. Each troop needs to bring their own table as well.

COUNTRIES TAKEN
England, Mexico, Germany, Canada, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Thailand, Spain, New Zealand, Egypt

COUNT: 91

SCHEDULE

Set up: 1:00 to 1:30
Rotations: 1:30 to 3 pm
Clean up: 3 until completed

Finance Reports Due

All Financial Reports must be completed online.  To do this, you must log onto the Girl Scouts Arizona Cactus-Pine website and go to "My GS."  Once logged in, select "Volunteer Toolkit" and then "Finances."  The online form will then load to fill in using the numbers from your detailed cash report.

Please upload a copy of your last bank statement and your detailed cash report when you submit your finance report.  Council has provided this handy-dandy instruction guide to help you with these tasks.

Troop Finance reporting is a condition of auditing and must occur yearly.  The due date for submission is June 30th but we highly recommend you complete this by the end of May before the summer lull hits.

Please direct questions to the Lesley, our neighborhood money manager, or to Karel Shoger who can be reached at council via: banking@girlscoutsaz.org
