Troop 4339 hopes that all Pima troops can help us send much needed supplies to the Navajo Nation. The Navajo Nation has been the hardest hit nation due to COVID-19 and they need our help. They have the highest infection and death rate and have been devastated with this ongoing pandemic.
The following items are the items that have the greatest need:
· Non-perishable canned goods and dry food (beans, flour, rice, canned goods, etc.)
· Water
· Paper products
· Masks, Gloves & Other Personal Protective Equipment
· Hand Sanitizer
· Personal hygiene products (soap, feminine products, etc.)
· Cleaning Supplies (disinfectant sprays and wipes, paper products, trash bags, etc.)
· Baby Formula & Baby Wipes & Diapers
· Blankets
They will not accept homemade food or used items for health, safety, and cultural reasons. Please respect this request.
Please drop off all items to my house between January 9-23rd. We would like to drop off all items to the Navajo Nation by January 24th. Address for drop of in email.
What: A holiday video sending a “virtual hug” to family, friends, etc. who we won’t be able to see this holiday season
Where: Record a short video (no longer than 15 seconds): “I am looking forward to:__________” (thinking of something they will do once it is safe in the future – ex. visiting grandparents, celebrating birthdays with friends, camping with Girl Scouts, etc).
AND Take a photo with a picture that you’ve drawn (8X10 or larger). Include a heart on your drawing. Include your name and troop number in the email – no names in video or picture.
When: Videos and pictures due by Tuesday, December 15, 2020
(submit follow-up form for patches by December 31st)
Troop 4361 will compile the segments into one longer video and return the finished product to the participants for dissemination.

Juliette usually travels far and wide but is interested in staying closer to home during the pandemic. She wants to spend time with her friends in Pima and see what they are up to during these trying times.

Your girls can send your troop flat Juliette back and forth and can ask other troops if they have Girl Scouts who would like to host her. Girls then mail back Juliette with pictures and notes about what they did.
Another option is to have each girl in the troop create her own Flat Juliette.
Flat Juliette would like to attend the following activities:
Add to the fun by getting a map to mark the places she’s been in and around Pima. Your girls might also like to create a scrapbook with the pictures and notes they get back.
1) Cut her out of cardstock or poster board. You can even laminate her to keep her neat and make a stand to help photograph her. Unless you plan on using tape to hold them on, remember to add tabs to her outfits and accessories.
2) Send a cover letter with her in the mail describing your project. Include a return address label to facilitate her return to your proper address if you are not doing door-to-door delivery.
3) Keep a notebook/binder of what is returned to you. (journal pages, photos, souvenirs, etc.), along with a map showing where she’s been.
4) Here are some ideas for outfits and accessories that you could make for Juliette: doctor with scalpel, firefighter with axe, tennis player with racket, artist with paintbrush, cowgirl with lasso, sailor with life preserver, construction worker with hammer, safari outfit with butterfly net, chef with whisk, baseball player with mitt or bat, zookeeper with animal, pirate with sword, karate uniform, Halloween costume, scuba gear, Greek/Roman toga, international outfits, etc.

Daisy Story Time!
The Daisy Book Club will be meeting Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 1:00PM via Zoom. We will be reading The Gingerbread Man and making a fun “Gingerbread Girl Scout” craft!

Pearl Awards
The Pearl Award is presented to Girl Scout volunteers whose actions directly support the Council’s wide range of response team efforts to deliver service to girls and adults across our jurisdiction. The following Pima volunteers were awarded pearls on November 7th at the virtual recognition ceremony:
What: A hike up to a hill
Where: Lousley trail at 16300 McDowell Mountain Park Dr, Fort McDowell, AZ 85264
Why: So that you can get outside and see nature's true beauty
The Lousley hill trail is a loop that is about 1.2 miles that goes up slowly about 300ft where you will be able to the valley. You will be able to turn around at any point if it becomes too much.
*There will be an entrance fee of about $7 per vehicle*

Pinnacle Peak Park has guided “tours of the sky” where a NASA Solar system ambassador will highlight the planets, star systems, and globular clusters NO hiking is required but it is recommended to bring binoculars and a small flashlight. This is not a group event and you only need to sign up with the City of Scottsdale link above you do have to scroll down a little to get to this specific program
