Military Cookie Donations

Troop donations for the military can be dropped off at Diana's house until March 3rd and then again after March 12th.

Small donations (less than 3 cases) can be left at my front door, just let me know you are coming. Please bring them to the front door (do not leave them outside the gate) but do not place them directly in front of the door; this is a tripping hazard.

Large donations: email/text ahead so that we can transfer them directly into the garage. (Addresses and emails are on the neighborhood roster or in the private Facebook group).

Please bring your cookies in the right cases! The base needs to pallet them
up for the journey. We need full cases to do that.

January Community Service: Food Drive

January Community Service 2023 Food Drive

Troop 4311 is excited to introduce Pima troops to Mom’s Pantry located in Phoenix, AZ.  Mom’s Pantry was established 7 years ago and is focused on feeding those in need in the Phoenix metro area.  In the past year, Mom’s Pantry has provided over 12,00 households with over 526,300 pounds of food.  The numbers of families in need increase monthly.

We hope your troop will participate collecting food for families in need.  Please sign your troop up to collect food through the month of January by emailing gstroop4311@gmail.com.  Large food bins can be borrowed for collection if desired.  Details will be emailed out to individual troops participating in collection regarding final drop off or pick up details.  Collection will occur throughout the month of January.

Participation patches can be requested here: http://tinyurl.com/PimaServiceReport

January Food Drive drop off instructions

We hope you and your troop are underway collecting food for our GS Pima Neighborhood January Food Drive event for Mom’s Pantry.
Once your troop has collected all your items they can be dropped off in one of two ways:

1) Food can be dropped off the morning of January 22nd, 9a-1pm at Mom’s Pantry, located at 13440 N Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Drop off your troop's donations at the SOUTH double doors of Mom’s Pantry, please state the donation is for the Pima Neighborhood GS Food Drive.  Troop 4311 leader will be there to help receive donations.

2) Bring your troop’s donation to one of the February leaders meetings on February 6th.

Please email troop 4311 of your plan for drop off of donations at gstroop4311@gmail.com ahead of time so they can plan accordingly.

If your troop won’t be participating in the larger food drive, we ask that each Girl Scout bring a donation to the Cookie Rally on January 6th.  Below are the items in greatest need for the pantry:

  • Non-perishable canned goods and dry food: Boxes of cereal, beans, flour, rice, canned goods, pasta, macaroni and cheese
  • Paper products
  • Personal hygiene products (soap, feminine products, etc.)
  • Cleaning Supplies (disinfectant sprays and wipes)
  • Baby formula & baby wipes & diapers
Your troops can make a huge impact on our community.  Thanks in advance for your participation.

How to Place an Initial Order

1. Decide what you will be ordering using the cookie calculator/previous year's sales/date from girls and parents.

If you need help, contact Teresa and have a conversation about numbers.

2. Go into eBudde and select the tab marked "Init. Order"

3. Assign ONE box of thin mints to each girl who is selling.

4. Go down to the " OTHER" line and place the remainder of your order IN CASES. (You input box numbers to make full cases. In other words, all totals must be in multiples of 12).

When you are done there should be only zeroes in the line marked "Extras." Any numbers listed in that line indicate you did not order a full case.  Please adjust.

At this point, you can hit save if you are not entirely satisfied with your numbers.  Once you are satisfied, go to step 5.

5. Once complete, click submit order.

6. Go to the "Rewards" tab.

7. Click "Fill Out" next to "Initial Rewards Order"

8. Take note of the PGA-Selling number.  If it is UNDER 200, click "Submit Reward Order" (no rewards due).

If the PGA-Selling number is 200 or above, fill in the the girl sizes for those selling/receiving the awards.  These sizes will then populate into the first block of tshirts (shaded blue).

Then select 1 and the size for your free volunteer shirt (second block of sizes, shaded white).

Then, if you want to order up to three more shirts at a cost of $12 for other volunteers, fill in the last block.

9. Hit button marked "Submit Reward Order."

Top Three (+) No-no's During Cookie Season

 1. Raspberry Rallies are only available via shipped orders.  No buying to re-sell at booths or door-to-door or whatever else you might think is a good idea.  Any plan to resell them is a big, fat "NO."  Troop proceeds are forfeit if you violate this rule.

2. No selling at the Open of the Superbowl. Any plan to subvert this rule is also a big fat "NO." Troop proceeds are forfeit if you violate this rule.

3. No Venmo.  Venmo is not to be used in any way for cookie sales.  You may NOT use it for personal sales or at cookie booths.  Just pretend it doesn't exist as far as cookie sales go.  Please use Digital Cookie for personal sales and Clover Go for booths.

Please remember that cookie money MUST be deposited into the TROOP ACCOUNT.  Under no circumstances should any cookie money ever go into a personal account.  It's not ok to deposit cash into your account and then write a check/Venmo to the troop!!! PLEASE please read that again. This is not ok for you and it's not ok for parents.  They have to turn in the cash they receive.

Here's the official "blurb" from the cookie manual on money handling:

Troop Bank Deposits

Properly handling cookie money is critical for a successful Troop Cookie Program. Please follow these simple, but effective steps:

» Deposit cookie money into your troop account weekly (or more often).
» Only deposit money into the troop bank account. Don’t ‘mingle’ Girl Scout money with personal money.
» Provide parents with a signed receipt when collecting money (and checking out cookies). » Regularly verify account balance and deposits with bank records.
» Confirm there are sufficient funds for ACH debits.

Cookie Top Ten List of Things to Do

 1. If you attended training, you will have received a TPM (Troop Product Manager Agreement) link. Read that and sign that today for eBudde access.

2. Check with your cookie manager and troop leader friends to make sure they got this list via email.  If they did not, please ask me to add them to distribution list.

3. Get onto the Facebook group where you can ask questions and keep caught up: https://www.facebook.com/groups/pimags

4. Once you get into eBudde, check to make sure each girl is present under the "Girls" tab.  If a girl is missing, she is likely not registered.  Take care of that :)

5. Bookmark these:

Browse around those sites a bit to see what's there.

6. If you don't have Clover Go, set that up.  Training for Clover Go is under MyGS >> gsLearn (in the left-hand column, at the bottom)

7. Download Clover Go, Digital Cookie, and Cookie Finder on your phone.

8.  Make sure you have Kelley and Teresa's contact info for help and make a note of their future Cookie Chats (sign up for reminders here: https://sites.google.com/view/pimacookietraining/)

(Go find your email, their contact info is there).

9. Plan your cookie meeting with your troop where you can share the samples of Raspberry Rallies you received yesterday and collect information for your initial order.

10.  You probably need a glass of wine or sparkling water... treat yourself.
