2023 Thinking Day

Pima Neighborhood

Thinking Day 2023

WHAT: Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by taking time to give thanks for their international friendships and remember that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries that are members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

WHEN & WHERE: February 26th, 1:00-3:00+ pm
Scottsdale Ranch Park, Ramada 10

COST: $5 per girl and includes a patch and passport.  No charge for leaders. Troops will be issued a refund of up to $3 per girl who attending after the event for those who attend. Last day to register is February 6, 2023.  The neighborhood subsidizes this event.
Payment can be made via troop check.

ATTENDANCE LIMITATIONS:  Please bring only enough adults to meet ratio guidelines. Tagalongs cannot be accommodated at this event. As always, for the safety of the girls, no unregistered adults should attend this or any other Girl Scout event.

Slots will be filled and countries assigned on a first-come, first-paid basis and then registration will be closed.  Please submit your check made out to Pima Neighborhood with the registration form below. It is really important that you actually fill in the form.  I lose track of verbal "can I have this country?" inquiries.

DIRECTIONS: Each troop needs to pick a country and prepare (and decorate) a booth that includes information, a food, a craft (and/or) a SWAP, and a physical activity (game or song, generally) related to their country.  Girls will be issued passports to travel from booth to booth, so a stamp or sticker is needed to have to mark those passports.  Your country choice will be confirmed as soon as you turn in your registration. Each troop needs to bring their own table as well.

COUNTRIES TAKEN: Belgium, Japan, China, France, Peru, Ireland, Poland, Vietnam, Madagascar, England, Israel, South Korea, and Italy

COUNT: 100

2022 Jingle Bell Hike

We received notice from the North Pole that there may be a special guest hiking the trail.

When: December 17, 2022 starting around 8 am

Where: Pinnacle Peak Park

26802 N. 102nd Way

Scottsdale, AZ 85262

Trail map is here✎ Edit

What: Start your winter break off with a Jingle Bell hike. Hike up to the Grandview viewing platform (the view is gorgeous!) and back or do the whole trail.  If you opt to do the entire trail, the total trail length (to the end and back) is 3.5 miles.

Meet your Girl Scout hosts at the base to get your jingle bells. In past years, the park has posted a holiday story that can be read in pieces as you ascend (the story ends at the viewing platform).

Please register here so that we have enough jingle bells and patches!

Please remember to bring water, closed-toe shoes, and put sunscreen on before you leave.
