Thinking Day 2021

Thinking Day 2021

WHAT: Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts by taking time to give thanks for their international friendships and remember that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries that are members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

WHEN & WHERE: February 21st, 1 to 4 pm via Zoom
Use Leader's Meeting Link

COST: Free, patches provided by the neighborhood

You can sign up through the Great Pima Scavenger Hunt or send Diana an email.

OPTION 1 DIRECTIONS: Each troop needs to pick a country and prepare a five-minute (maximum) Google slide presentation that includes the following information:

1. Basic Info: country's name, official language, currency, flag, and capital etc.
2. A traditional recipe (and photo of what the food looks like)
3. Instructions for a craft or SWAP
4. Information on Girl Scouts/Guides in that country

Troops are encouraged to include lots of photos and short videos in their presentations.  Please have each girl contribute something to the overall presentation.  Older troops should use the shared editing feature in Google slides so that all the girls can assist.

Please work with your girls to teach them how to present their country.  Even Daisies can do this! You can have each girl do a part of this presentation or assign it to a few.

OPTION 2 DIRECTIONS: If you would like to do a craft, a cooking demonstration, a dance, or any other activity related to your country, please let me know what you wish to do and if you need to add to the supply list that I send out to the parents to have ready for the session.  Please be mindful of the time and limit these activities to 5 minutes.  It is probably best if you run these plans by Diana ;)

Use your resources wisely; troops with families from other countries have a great resource available.

Your country choice will be confirmed as soon as you turn in your registration form.  Please share the link to your presentation to Diana no later than February 19th.
