Cookies are Coming

Kelley and I wanted to update you with information for the upcoming cookie season. First off, please complete this Google Form for us by Friday, October 30th at 4pm. https://forms.gle/q2KbJQiPPU7jci7w8

We wanted to let you know that Cookie Training will be Virtual this year. The training will still be on Monday, November 2nd. There will be 2 sessions made available so you and your cookie manager can choose the session time that works best for each of you. The session times are 10-11:30 and 6:30-8.

Cookies will look very different this year for obvious reasons. So naturally the training will look quite different as well. As with every prior year, every troop leader and troop cookie manager are required to attend training in order to gain access to eBudde. However, this year we will be modifying the training a bit. Everyone must attend one of the two sessions. Leaders and/or Cookie Managers with 4 or more years of experience can choose to leave the meeting after our initial presentation that will take approximately 15-20 minutes. (You will be required to answer a quiz prior to receiving and signing your TPM and based on your answers, you may or may not need to watch some training modules.)

For those who have participated in the cookie seasons for 3 years to new, you will be required to stay on the training session. We will be covering much needed information and at the end there will also be a Q & A session. After the Virtual Cookie Training you will receive a link from us to sign your TPM and then will be granted eBudde access.

If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to Kelley or myself (Teresa).

See you on Monday!!

Coronavirus: Staying Safe at School Workshop

Abby is working on her Gold Award and is offering online informational health workshops open to all ages of Girl Scouts!

The workshop currently available is Coronavirus: Staying Safe at School, with The Importance of Vaccines to come in early November. Other topics such as mental health, general hygiene, and vaping will follow so stay tuned for updates! Sign up here if you are interested.

Haunted Yard

If you haven't visited Diana's house at Halloween, now's your chance to stop by and see the craziness.

To ensure social distancing, the goal is to set it up in time for viewing on October 30th and to allow visitors also on October 31 and November 1.  I will send up a follow up if we aren't ready for October 30th. The display will be on when it is dark until around 9 pm each day.

Much of the display will be OUTSIDE the gate (even viewable from a car) and there will be a limit to the number of people allowed in the courtyard.

Although the scariest "look" this year is to NOT wear a mask, we are asking that all guests wear a face covering over the mouth and nose.

Girl Scouts who visit and identify themselves to Diana will receive a Halloween patch!

November Service Project: Cards for Veteran

Appreciation for our veterans!

For November’s service project, the Pima Girl Scouts will make cards for veterans through Operation Gratitude.  Operation Gratitude sends over 300,000 care packages each year to veterans, and the letters included are some of the most treasured items!  We are asking each girl who participates to make at least two cards, but girls who make five or more cards will earn a patch for their efforts!

Materials Needed:  Blank cards or blank paper, pens, markers, colored pencils, stickers and other decorative materials.  Please remember NO glitter or confetti.

Instructions:  Write a positive letter (send well wishes, hopeful messages, and thank you for your service messages) to the veterans.  Please do not mention Veteran’s Day since the cards will be sent throughout the year.  Do not write about politics, violence, injury, etc.  Younger girls can draw a picture, including their first name only and age with the drawing.  For safety, girls should omit last names and personal information from cards, such as contact information, school, social media contact information, etc.  Once we have collected all the letters, they will be shipped to Operation Gratitude in one large envelope for distribution.

Zoom Card Making Party:  Sunday, November 8 at 3 pm

On Sunday, November 8 at 3 pm, Troop 4402 will lead a Zoom meeting for girls to come together to make cards.  The Zoom meeting is optional, but if girls want to share their cards and ideas, they are encouraged to join!

By December 4, please complete this form for girls who made 5+ cards so we can order patches.

Card Drop Off Deadline:  Monday, November 30.  Please drop off your cards at Maria's home so we can bundle them and send them to Operation Gratitude.
